Sugar Plum Dreams

I honestly don't really know what to say about this manicure.  It is one coat of L.A. Color Color Crase Purple with a heavy dusting of Martha Stewart Sugar Plum glitter.  I had wanted to try a glitter manicure for a long time and one evening I just decided to try it.
I don't know if I would do this again.  It was incredibly messy and time consuming.  I like the finished effect, but I don't know if it was worth all of the glitter all over my bed!

My Name is Pearl.

This is Sinful Colors Whats Your Name with accent nails of Sinful Colors Pearl Harbor.  WYN is a very interesting color, black with a teal shimmer that looks purple in the right light.  I was kind of shocked when I saw the color shift, since I chose it thinking it was just a blackened shimmery teal.
I only have a few pictures of this because it was late at night and I was exhausted.  I love dark colors on my nails, so I'm sure I will be wearing it again sometime soon.

The Tart didn't want Bon Bons, Superbass stole her Heart.

My previous Orly Bon Bon and Butter London Tart with a Heart glitter sandwich manicure needed a little sprucing up after a few days so I added a coat of OPI Superbass Shatter.
I'll keep this post short since the last one was ginormous!  I love the shatter from Nicki Minaj's OPI collection.  Not much else spoke to me from it, but the shatter color is gorgeous.  This manicure was so hard to take off, just because I loved it so much!

A Tart with a Bon Bon for a Heart.

Here is one of my favourite manicures I have ever done.  I started with two coats of Orly Bon Bon.  Then on the accent nails I did one coat of Butter London Tart with a Heart.  I finally topped those accents off with another coat of Bon Bon to make a gorgeous glitter sandwich!
I apologise for having eight million pictures of this, but it was too gorgeous to ignore.
I love how the glitter particles take on a milky, muted shimmer.
And here it is inside, still gorgeous!
I really couldn't stop taking pictures of this manicure.  When I wasn't taking pictures I was staring at it.
Whew!  We've reached the end!  But I couldn't bear to take it off, so a few days later I added a little crack to it.  I'll post that one on Tuesday so you can see how gorgeous that turned out.

Candy Corn Distresses my Denim.

Sorry there isn't a bottle shot for this one!  This is two coats of Covergirl Boundless Color Candy Corn with accents of Sally Hansen Crackle Distressed Denim.
I don't really have too much to say about this one.  I was looking for a good color to go under my DD and I thought of orange.  It's not horrible, but not my favourite either.  If it had been a slightly lighter blue I think I would like it better!

All in the Cut of Hot Chocolate

My titles are getting more and more bizarre, aren't they?  This manicure is Orly Hot Chocolate with accents topped with Wet n Wild It's all in the Cut.
I went to about five different drug stores to find the Wet n Wild color icon collection, and when I finally found it I was so excited I picked up all eight!  They are gorgeous for layering though, and I definitely don't regret it.
I really like the contrast of the light lavendar glitter over the rich chocolate brown.  The colors are different enough to really pop when layered.
I haven't quite gotten the hang of holding two bottles at a time yet.  After finding this picture I knew I had to share it, it's too awkward to ignore.

I Cracked My Favorite Martian's Medallion.

This time I have Confetti My Favorite Martian topped with China Glaze Cracked Medallion.  I only used top coat on my accent nails for a varied effect.
I love the way Cracked Medallion looks before top coat, kind of like brushed copper.
My right thumb nail came out particularly good.  I like to brush the crackle coats diagonally to create less of a linear design on the nail.  I had a really hard time taking this manicure off.

Meteor Night

This is Tarina Tarantino Meteor Night.  It was easy to apply and nice in two coats.  Honestly, this was an impulse buy at Sephora because it was in the clearance section.

Inside it is a lot more subdued.  I wore this for a few days and didn't seem to get bored of it.  I think I want to layer it with something else next time though, because it definitely has potential.

Julie G(old) is Twisted

Here is Jesse's Girl JulieG with some accents of Nabi Crack Gold, Finger Paints Twisted, and Essie Matte Magic.  I alternated so that some flakes were matte and some were shiny.
I didn't clean this mani up nearly as good as I should have, but this was just a quick cover after a long night.  I do really like the gold crack over the coral of JulieG though!

Taffy En Francais, S'il vous plait

This post is long, and for that I apologise.  This is the first french manicure I ever did and honestly, I am madly in love with it.
The tips are NYC White that I've had forever.  I taped them off and did one coat since it's so thick at this point one was more than enough.  After I removed the tape I used a little acetone to clean up the edges of the tips.  After I finished the tips I did two coats of Orly Taffy.  Usually I can't stand a sheer look like this, but it is so gorgeous and classy.
I got a little impatient and smudged my middle finger, so I added a little star to cover it.  I think it was a pretty good cover up!
I will probably do another french manicure in the future, even though it took forever.  If I ever need to feel really classy this will be my go to look.
I couldn't stop looking at my nails the entire time I had this on and it pained me to take it off.  After the initial shock of looking at my nails and constantly thinking they werer bare this was a wonderful surprise!

Asylum on the Wild Side

Here we have Color Club On the Wild Side with accents of Finger Paints Asylum.  This is one of the two colors from the Special Effects collection I was able to get my grubby mitts on thanks to a FANTASTIC February 14th present from Jason.  Since it was the one with purple and orange flakes it was definitely on my radar.
I tried desparately to get a picture of the shimmer in Asylum.  For someone who aspired to be a photographer I sure have lost my touch after all these years.

Dark Side of the Gouda?

This is OPI Gouda Gouda Two Shoes with accent nails of Deborah Lippmann Dark Side of the Moon. When I saw the OPI Holland collection I was not overwhelmed, but I had to own this polish just for the name. Whenever something has to do with food it usually has a one way ticket into my collection.

In this close up you can really see the shimmer in Gouda Gouda Two Shoes, it's actually quite pretty for such a grandma-y color.

Let's give the boy a Raspberry.

I love Deborah Lippmann polishes, and I love Footloose, so I had to own the collection when it was released! This is two coats of Let's Hear It for the Boy with accent nails of CND Effects Raspberry Sparkle.

And here it is inside. The color isn't great for my skin tone, but I love it so much that I will wear it anyway.

umm... hi?

I guess every blog needs an introductary post, right? I'm a twenty-something Polish foodie living in Maryland. I have an addiction to nails. Since I work in the food industry I have to paint them almost every other day. This is my blog, hopefully it will be as entertaining for you as it is for me. I know very little about coding and everything that blogging entails, so this will be a learning experience in the least. On that note, here goes nothing!
